Ortho-K and Myopia Control

Eye Control with Jasmine

ORTHOKERATOLOGY LENSES (NIGHT-TIME CONTACT LENSES)

Orthokeratology lenses are an alternative to spectacle lenses, laser and day time contact lens wear.  Orthokeratology involves the insertion of a specially designed contact lens whilst you sleep. This lens gently moulds the shape of your cornea (the front surface of your eye) such that when you awaken you are able to see clearly without the need for spectacles or contact lenses.

MYOPIA CONTROL

Would you like to stop the gradual decline in your child's eyesight? Did you know there are now treatments to prevent the development of severe short sightedness for many children. Myopia, or short sightedness, occurs in part, due to an elongation in eyeball length. Myopia, in high degrees can lead to many different eye diseases including cataract, glaucoma and retinal detachment. It is much wiser to prevent these conditions from occuring rather than needing surgical interventions when these eye diseases occur in highly short sighted individuals.   Currently 23% of the earth's population are short-sighted and this percentage is increasing. In east Asia up to 80% of the population is short sighted.  It is worth investigating all your options to prevent your child from developing a life-time dependence on spectacles and placing them at high risk of many eye diseases.
